John and his wife Roslyn moved to Scotland from Surrey in 1960. They have lived in Balfron for over30 years and have four children and five grandchildren. After taking early retirement in 1992 as Chairman and Managing Director of the OCS Group in Scotland and Northern Ireland, John was subsequently the Director of The Scottish Civic Trust from 1993 to 2004. He has been a member of the club since 1982 and is also involved in a number of other charitable organisations. He is currently Chancellor of the Priory of Scotland of the Order of St. John and a trustee of New Lanark World Heritage Site. He was formerly a governor of Hutcheson’s Educational Trust for 15 years and chairman of the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust in Glasgow. He is a former Deacon Convenor of the Trades House of Glasgow

The Golf Am Am on August 14 was for a change blessed with good weather and with the aid of many helpers and generous donations from our sponsors and participants we raised over £11,000 for charity, as well as local charities we made donations to Help For Heroes. Ghurkhas, CHAS, and Strathcarron Hospice.
Next years event will be held on 13th August 2011 and we look forward to seelng old friends and some new friends.
